The premise

Two men from 2026 wake in a Roman harbour town in Campania — a forum, workshops, a cookhouse, the air thick with garum and salt.

The half-wrecked machine that displaced them came through too; one of them is trying to rebuild it — car parts and all — while the other learns to cook with clay pots and no gas hob. Jack narrates by text, arriving out of sequence with timestamps that make no sense, dry about a situation that is anything but. A story about improvisation, friendship, and staying alive in the wrong century — a day, and a choice, at a time.
